Within a Swirl of Moonlit Mist

Extend my hand, and turn my wrist:
I fold you into my embrace
within a swirl of moonlit mist.

Flowing as your dress of lace,
we step and turn, a graceful dance;
I fold you into my embrace.

Your fragrance has me in a trance;
among the ancient standing stones,
we step and turn, a graceful dance.

Your charm has overturned the thrones
of gods, yet here you are tonight,
among the ancient standing stones.

Though I was cast out from the light
because I would not be the thrall
of gods, yet here you are tonight.

Because I would not be the thrall:
extend my hand, and turn my wrist,
and watch the ancient landmark fall
within a swirl of moonlit mist.

Some photographs I had clicked during a desert safari. This was one of the Turkish dances and the skirt that the dancers wore was all lit up!
